Paul, I'm glad you liked it so much. I've been kicking around the idea for WWII Fantasy for a while, and your compliment on the effort has inspired me to get with it. Book 2 will be called Secrets of Axum and I believe I'll have it ready before the end of May. The cover is done, the story is in my head, it's just a matter of typing it out, editing, then giving it to my editor so it's a product you'll like. Thanks again!

Write that first sentence. Even if you go back and delete it later, once you get that first sentence out you're on the move. I find that I often can't stop once I get going. A few days ago I edited for seventeen hours. Fortunately my wife is a busy RN manager and I have plenty of time to do this. If that still doesn't work, talk to a writer. One that cares about your work and will motivate you.

People who think you've climbed Mount Everest. Seriously. You tell people you're a published author and they look at you differently. It's quite satisfying. It has to be, the pay is crap.

LOL! I feel like I am an aspiring writer. I have six novels on my computer that will never see the light of day. Don't get discouraged if your first attempt, or your fifth, doesn't work. It takes time and effort to learn the process. Also, if you're working on a novel, you're halfway through, and you're not feeling it... just let it rest. Start something else. If you never go back it is because you realized it wasn't worthy. I've done this.

I'm editing book 2 in the Dark Seas series, and am also 45,000 words into a thriller. The thriller is about a man who is on the run from the government after he invents something that may well destroy the national economy. His salvation will come from an unexpected source. I also have about 25,000 words of book 3 in the Dark Seas series written. I feel it's important to work on what inspires me at the moment.

By being with other authors. My critique group motivates me every time we meet. I surround myself with people who write well.

To be honest... the voices in my head. I've been a storyteller my entire life and the ideas for stories aren't the problem. If ideas made novels, I'd have 100 books. But each novel has hundreds of hours of effort in it. You can't rush that.
