It would have to be, who really murdered my older brother?
His body was found on the bank of the Sandy River in August of 1972. He was beaten up and left fir dead, face down in the shallow water.
My mother searched for the next 5 years to find the truth but she died in ''77.

The idea for the story I'm currently working on is from a dream I had. The dream was so strong that I remembered it after I woke up and I just had to write it down. Who knew I dream in sci-fi? That is not my usual genre. But the first draft was written in just a few short days. Now that the dream is down, it's time to add credibility to it and make it real.

I draw from my personal experiences growing up for some of my stories. For others, my dreams. Sometimes when I wake up a dream leaves such an impression on my mind that I have to sit down and write it out.

Currently I'm working on a new short story. It's a futuristic piece and not my usual genre of writing, but I've received a lot of encouragement and feedback from other authors in that genre that has helped.

If your goal is to become rich, keep your day job. It is a lot harder to make a dime being a writer. However, if you are in it for the joy of sharing your talent with others, then go for it. What royalties you earn view as a gift, a perk, a bonus.

The best thing about being a writer for me comes when someone picks up my book and takes time from their life to read it. While I'm sharing part of me in every book with them, they are giving me more. They are giving me some of their life, their time. That is humbling and amazing.

That is a good question. While writing, my characters sometimes take on a life of their own. I have in mind the direction of the story/conversation but sometimes they do or say something I never intended. I can usually bring them back around but sometimes I hit a "brick wall" and the story comes to a stop. So I have to back everyone up and take another run at it.
At other times, the story just doesn't come so I have to take a break and do something else. I find if I don't stress over not being able to write, then it goes away faster.
