Chrys Cymri Hi, I’m not the person who set up the review round. Please contact her with your question.
Chrys Cymri Well, the first beta reader has come back to me, and I have the first draft of the cover to look at...
Chrys Cymri I want to go to Narnia! If I could join the Dawn Treader on her voyage, that would be a dream come true. Particularly if I could meet Aslan.
Chrys Cymri Not so quick an answer... In England and Wales (I don't really know about Scotland) a number of public schools are church schools. Long before education was available to all, local churches started to educate the poor. These were only basic lessons in numeracy and literacy (with some biblical teaching), but as time went the school system developed to what it is today. Most of these church schools attract children from the local populace, and usually there is no requirement that either the child nor the teachers are practicing Christians. The amount of emphasis given to Christianity in the school varies widely, but the schools are meant to have a short act of worship every day. Usually the local vicar will take one of those either weekly or fortnightly. Some schools call this 'worship' but most call this 'assembly' (because the entire school assembles for it). The vicar will also usually be on the governing body, as will at least two of the church members. Here's a bit more information: https://www.churchofengland.org/educa...
Are you now on 'The Marriage of Gryphons'?
Chrys Cymri When I was seven years old, I woke up to a very bright light hovering near my bedroom window. I'm convinced to this day that this was something unnatural, but I've never been able to work out what. I don't THINK I believe in alien visitations...
Chrys Cymri My dear, pull up a seat and let me make you a cup of tea. I have consulted Penny, and she has just returned from the final challenge set by Morey's gryphon clan. Everything has been documented, but she is asking some people with sharp eyes and even sharper pencils to check for typos. Your wait will end in a few weeks' time, so hang on in there! If you haven't already done so, you might want to sign up to my newsletter list, so you'll be one of the first to see the new cover: http://chryscymri.com/newsletter.html
Chrys Cymri Morgon of Hed and Raederle of An, from Patricia A McKillip's 'Riddlemaster' Trilogy. Theirs is a relationship of equals, and their love is evident but never stated.
Chrys Cymri I'm sorry only now seen this! But I think I answered the question? I'm in Greece at the moment and can't do much about this until I get home.
Chrys Cymri Northern California. What you see behind me is the Golden Gate Bridge. I was visiting San Francisco with my friend. I write about my trips on my travel blog, if you're interested! www.travellinghopefully.co.uk.

I'm off to Chile in February--Easter Island and then Patagonia.
Chrys Cymri I wish I had a good answer to this. I've had years in which I couldn't write. I suppose I'm fortunate that I make my living as a priest so I don't have to write. But I did miss the creativity when it happened. Writing a journal helped, it meant I was still producing words which I knew weren't ever going to be seen.
Chrys Cymri Coming to know some wonderful characters. I sometimes read over what I've written and I wonder where these people have come from. And I'd very much like to meet them for real.
Chrys Cymri Just write and keep on writing. Know that you'll have to write a certain amount of bad as you learn how to write what is good. I had 1000 typed pages of a novel under my belt by the time I was twenty years old. None of that will ever see the light of day, but it was all part of the learning experience.
Chrys Cymri I just wonder about things. What if this happened, what about that? For 'Dragons Can Only Rust' I had the image of a robot designed in a dragon form. Why would someone build a robot as a dragon? What would that mean for his journey to selfhood? For 'The Dragon Throne' I wondered about friendship and loyalty. What if you combined a human with hang ups about politics and power with a being dedicated to truth and honour like a unicorn? I enjoy witnessing how these queries play out as I write.
Chrys Cymri I've just started a urban fantasy about a female vicar who discovers that there's a parallel world in which there are dragons, unicorns, etc. It all starts when she finds herself giving the last rites to a dying dragon. The idea came when I was driving to meet a couple to have their baby baptised (I am a female vicar!) and I was wondering about a question I once asked my bishop. 'If I used holy water I've blessed on a vampire, would it affect him if he didn't accept that women could be ordained as priests?' My bishop brushed this off with, 'Only you would ask that, Chrys!' But what if he'd answered, 'Actually, holy water doesn't affect vampires. If it did, how could they be baptised?'
