Hello! I loved "The Rose Queen," and was wondering if you are working on the next installment of the Rose Trilogy? Or is there plans to continue it at some future point?
Alison McBain Thanks so much! Yes, I'm currently working on the next in the trilogy, which will be called "The Rose War." Hoping to have it to print by next year. Hope you enjoy it as much as the first one! :)

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Alison McBain "Never give up, never surrender!" Writing is about persistence. If you believe in your work, someone else will believe in it too, even if you're not an overnight success. Few writers are. This business has a lot of rejection. Don't let someone else decide whether you have a voice or not. You DO, and it's worth hearing.

How do you get inspired to write?
Alison McBain I feel like I'm always inspired to write - it's finding the time that's the problem! There are stories happening all around, and all I have to do is find the right angle to tell it. Finding the angle can sometimes be tough. A first person story might not work, but then I switch the narrative to third person, for example, and suddenly everything clicks.
