Angela writes the romantic women’s fiction Jackson’s Bridge Series set in the contemporary western landscape and communities of Colorado. Her stories take time, develop deep connections with characters, and transport readers with breathtaking settings and layered storytelling.

Jackson’s Bridge is your ticket to a world where community matters, kindness prevails, and healing is possible. It’s a celebration of love and resilience, family and friendship, second chances and new beginnings.

The characters are complex, and the plotlines are strong and layered with romance, suspense, western living, drama and tension to provide the emotional pay-off you expect from women's fiction.

Her debut novel (Letting Go) was placed in the Bath Novel Award 2024

Letting Go is my first, and I hope you enjoy the story. You are welcome to email me any questions directly by replying to any of my newsletters.

I am a New Zealand author, and my imagination has been captured by the landscape of Colorado and the people I have imagined in my fictional town of Jackson’s Bridge.

I haven’t used a preface yet, but I look to the definition in the dictionary for what it means. I do enjoy books that add one to create a sense of emotion, tension, or expectation to the story I’m about to read. I once read a book where an author used a poem that had a sense of foreboding, as if the well-known poem was actually the main character looking back on the story with wisdom about what happened in the story I was about to read. I thought that was a very clever use of a preface.

I also think prefaces would be helpful to provide a little detail of history or subject matter information before a story, if it helps the reader understand what is going to happen in the story, or to let the reader know it is a true story.

Ultimately, I think the author should keep the reader in mind for all things pertaining to a book’s contents. So when adding a preface, they should ask themself what value it adds for the reader.

I hope that answers your question. Please feel welcome to contact me directly if you’d like to talk more, and thank you for your message.(less)

The Art of Leaving Book Reviews

Before I became an indie author, I hardly ever left a book review. Now I'm on the other side of the reader/writer equation, I am awake to the opportunities I have to help someone out. Leaving reviews is such a small thing to do, is so satisfying personally, and has far-reaching consequences through the ripples of positivity that are sent out into the world.

I have done some soul searching, and I’ve Read more of this blog post »
