A.L. Waddington has her master’s in military psychology and is currently working on her doctorate. She is an avid researcher and reader and when she is not lost in the world of her own creation, she is busy exploring the southwest region of the country. She is slightly addicted to coffee and after recently moving to Arizona, has a new-found appreciation for Central Air Conditioning. She and her husband, Eric live in Phoenix with their daughters.

Thank you for your question. I just found it on my author dashboard. I apologize for my delayed response. Almost all of the teenage/young adults that are in my EVE series are based off my own children and/or their friends....not exactly but loosely. As the mother of three teenagers (when I started the series), my house was always packed with them and most became my 'adopted' children. I enjoyed including characters of their 'likeness' while also embellishing other areas of their personalities. As for the adults, almost all are a product of my overactive imagination although a couple are named after people who are dear to me such as Mr. Rand (who was my favorite psychology professor in college), Mrs. Neal-Beliveau (my mentor and advisor in college), and Coach Smith (who was my Coach for many years when I played in High School).
The storyline was honestly a very bizarre dream I had about having the gift of EVE. When I woke up I jotted down a new notes and it grew from there. I have always loved history so it was a lot of fun doing research on the 19th century and comparing the differences with the world we live in.
I am so happy you enjoyed the series! The spin-off, the Spirit Quest series, is slated to kick off late next winter.

Thanks Jia, surgery went real well. I'm still in a brace for about another 3 weeks and have very little use of my right arm (and of course I'm right-handed :D) but I am somewhat managing. I appreciate your note. Take care and have a great weekend!
