message 40006: by DemetraP (new)

DemetraP Sheltered in the Storm by Lisa Edmonds (Fortusian Mates book 1) was amazing. If you like tentacles, you must read this book.

The hero has 4 tentacles, webbed feet, purple skin, white hair. She is human. He was swimming in the ocean when her spaceship crashed. He smelled her blood and knew immediately that she was his true mate. She was severely injured and dying.

He takes care of her while she heals. He pampered her. He desperately wants her to stay with him so he starts decorating the house to make it prettier and bringing her plants. He bathes her.

This story is very focused on the couple. They are learning about each other and falling in love. The steam is scorching hot. Lots of tentacles touching her everywhere in every opening.

He also says very romantic things to her.

message 40015: by DemetraP (new)

DemetraP I highly recommend Tanin's Treasure by Talia Rhea. The alien hero has quills on his head, he lights up in all areas of his body when dancing for his mate, he has knuckle claws, and a tail. He also has barbs "down there".

It was slow burn. He agrees to sponsor her and her sister after he rescues them from a kidnapping. This means they join his spaceship crew and learn about how to survive in alien space.

He talks to her about his feelings and how he wants her to be his mate. He tells her about his anatomy and that he would never hurt her.

The quills on his head are sharp. So sometimes he ties her hands so she won't hurt herself touching his quills.

He likes to praise her and call her good girl.

Thr bad guy who kidnapped them keeps trying to get her and her sister back. The hero gets epic revenge. You find out why everyone was scared of him where he grew up in a slum space station.

The other crew members are really interesting. It looks like each crew member will get a book.

message 40022: by DemetraP (new)

DemetraP Zomromcom by Olivia Dade was great. Vampire hero with a sword and a plus size human woman who are neighbors and acquaintances.

I really enjoyed this book. The steam was very steamy. The vampire hero was grumpy and she was sunshine.

The plot is that a few years ago, the government accidentally invented zombies. They were trying to create a super soldier. During that first zombie breakout, they managed to herd the zombies back into the lab. But the lab is underground and after many deaths, the government has been unable to eradicate the zombies. So now the lab is surrounded by 4 walls and deep moats. Zombies can drown.

The heroine and hero live in the containment zone. Property is cheap there. He has made preparations for zombies, so has she. Somehow the zombies have broken out again. They team up and try to warn others.

His name is Gaston. So throughout the story she makes songs up using the famous tune from the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast. No one's...like Gaston. It was pretty funny.

There are many humorous moments sprinkled throughout the story. I laughed out loud a few times.

There is a happy ever after ending.

message 40036: by Faith (new)

Faith Hi everyone! 👋💛
I’ve been in a bit of a romantasy mood lately and wanted to ask:

What kind of fantasy romance or paranormal romance vibes are you all loving right now?
Slow-burn tension? Dangerous protectors? Hidden worlds? Soft heroines who find their strength?

I’ve been diving into more atmospheric, emotional stories lately, the kind that mix quiet characters with ancient magic and a bit of danger in the shadows. Would love to hear what tropes or moods you’re drawn to, and what you’re reading this week.

Also, if anyone else here enjoys those darker, winged-guardian type stories or fantasy worlds layered with secrets… definitely tell me what’s on your list. I’m trying to add more books to my TBR!

Looking forward to your recs 💛✨

Liz Dubelman The Medic's Fake Date by Isabelle Grace
I came for the fake dating trope, but stayed for the chemistry—this book is absolutely addictive. Andie is relatable, Ric is swoon-worthy, and their “pretend” relationship feels way too real way too fast.

Sweet, fun, and full of tension, this is the kind of romance you won’t want to put down. Go ahead and click—you’re going to love this one.
