THE ARCHITECTURE OF AUTOCRACY: Permanence, Power, and the Engineering of Stability
I’ve been thinking about something unsettling:
What if democracy doesn’t collapse suddenly…
but simply fades away?
Not with tanks in the streets or dramatic revolutions —
but through small, almost invisible changes:
– a law reinterpreted
– media slightly shifting tone
– elections becoming “predictable”
None of these changes seem dramatic on their own.
But over time, something fundamental shifts.
Do you think people can actually live inside a system that changes — without realizing it?
Or is there always a moment when society understands what’s happening?
