Melina Druga What’s the first historical novel you remember loving and why?

For me, it was Little House on the Prairie. Yes, it's partially autobiographical but enough was fictionalized that it can be considered historical fiction. It sparked in me a desire to know what it was like to live in other time periods.

Henry Guard The Clan of The Cave Bear. It transports you to a vividly imagined prehistorical world.

That sounds interesting. It's definitely an era most authors avoid.

Anne-Marie my very first was probably "The Children of the New Forest" by Captain Frederick Marryat, about 4 royalist children who were hidden in the woods during the enlgish civil war.
