Lulu_books92 Hi,

I want to dive into dark romance this new year. Do you have recs preferably in 3rd person writing ?

Karen Denise Foster Hi. Third person isn't my favorite, but if the author can pull it off, they are really good. One series I would recommend that is written in third person is Consequences by Aleatha Romig – Dark, kidnapping, abuse, graphic. It's not really "mafia", but is dark and well written.

Lulu_books92 I struggle with 1st person. It has to be very well written for me to like it. And since I want to give it a try to the dark romance genre I rather start with something in 3rd person. I will define check out your rec.

I will look for some more in third person. I know I have some that I would recommend if I really thought about it.

I get having a favorite type of reading style. Before I started reading romance, everything I read was mostly in third person, and I struggled at first with this genre because so much is written in first person.

It took a bit for me to like it, but then I started finding that with romance novels I felt the emotion more if I was reading in first person. But everyone is different and every author is different as well.

Happy reading. Hope you like the genre.

Actually, I just got started with Consequences... it is well written and gives me the same vibes as The Shiek by Edith Hull.

Yeah, I re-read this series as a Book Of The Month Choice and was excited by everyone's comments during that read. It was fun to have first time readers feeling all the feels I did. Glad you liked it.
