My name is Patrick, and I'm a writer of fantasy and mystery. Those are the genres I mostly read and review as well. I have just joined the group, and I'm looking to connect with other writers and readers. I have two published books. Also, I would be more than happy to send a free ebook copy of my epic fantasy novel, The King's Fall, to anyone who is interested in reading it or reviewing. If you'd like to check it out, just send me a message with your preferred format.
Best,
Patrick Rain

Enjoy Goodreads! It's a great site.

that's my book!
I love to read self help... but my guilty pleasure are food incorporated murder mysteries. Anything with baked goods and I am hooked:)
any recommendations on either genre and always appreciated.
thanks for reading!

I'm Sarah Dahl and live in the border triangle of Germany (near Aachen), Netherlands and Belgium. I read a lot and always 5-10 books at a time. They're scattered all over the house. My day job is writing historical fiction and editing for a magazine.
My reading and writing don't overlap much, as I don't enjoy reading the same genre I write. I write Viking sensual romance. I can only read what I don't also write, because it's pathological: I overanalyse and can't relax when the reading genre is close to mine. So I enjoy reading crime and thriller (my current read is another indie author's "Cover the Lies" by Carla Vermaat, who's also a friend).
Apart from contemp. crime I read mostly Viking-themed non-fiction, because when I write, I write Vikings.
As for every genre, authenticity is key and I do research trips to museums and sites and read about the era, as well as networking with other Viking enthusiasts. It seems to work: "...would recommend to anyone, not just those who like romance or historical fiction but to everyone who reads even if it isn't something that would normally be your genre" (said Book Monitor about my collection of sensual romances).
This collection is what I'm publishing atm, one story after the other: the Tales of Freya, hot short stories set in the Viking age, each with very different characters. The fifth one, "Healer", releases March 2nd. They are all stand-alone.
So right now, besides prepping the Tale "Healer", I'm editing the following one, "The Tower", and planning to write the one after that...it never stops :-)
After writing and editing and reading I'm a mum of two (9 and 6 years old) and love hiking (which leads to plotting and it solves plot problems too, every time!) and yoga, and am trying my hand on meditation -- with varying success, because once I sit and listen inward, I start plotting something straight away, haha!
This group was recommended to me by my author friend Elaine Coetzee as a welcoming and supportive place on Goodreads, because, I must admit, GR is something of a beast I still don't entirely understand...So maybe with your help it'll all become clearer and easier and more personal! I'm very much looking forward to connecting and talking about anything reading and writing! Have a great weekend, everyone - and I'd love to hear which genres you read or write!

Hi Tana, happy to connect. Can't wait to hear more about what you love to read - and write?

Hello, I am new to blogging, but I have always been an avid reader and shameless book hoarder. Some women collect shoes, purses, and/or jewelry but I am obsessed with books and prefer the written word!
I post a new review almost daily on my growing blog OneLastChapter.com that I share with my blog partner. We also have various social media accounts that we use to promote our reviews and to connect with the literary world; including an active Facebook Group where we have daily discussions. I have read and reviewed almost 50 books (some being shorter children's books) in the last 2 months. I also actively review ARCs for sites like NetGalley and Edelweiss. I am very honest and respectful of authors when I review their books. I understand that not all books are for everyone and that some prefer different styles of writing; which I include such suggestions in the review.
I am dedicated to following through with my commitments and fully appreciate the time an author takes to write or promote their books. I have no qualms reading eBooks, print, or any other form your book could be presented in.
My Favorite Genres are:
High Fantasy
Young Adult
Paranormal Romance
Sci-Fi
Fiction
If you have a book that you think we could work together on, please feel free to pm me or email at OneLastChaper17@Gmail.com and I will get back with you as soon as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read and consider me for a possible review.
Brandy

Book I'm reading: Oliver Twist, Queen of Attolia, and starting Ember in the Ashes tmrw
Love to read: books that are funny, clever, and have a cute couple in them (Skye and Jeffrey ftw)
(and invited by Cara's Craftastic Creations, thanks Cara 😉😉)

I'm an author, published my first novel in 2015! I've written 6 novels, currently have three published with my new one releasing March 7th. I love traveling, reading (When I have time) and of course writing. I'm married, no kids, have two dogs and I live in a small town in Georgia!
Hi! I'm Kerrie. I live in England and really like reading. I tend to prefer YA mostly but also read other genres including autobiographies, non-fiction stuff and children's literature.
I've just started a blog. It's not 100% about book and reading but I have my 2018 TBR list posted and have lots more book-y posts planned. I'm debating about whether to post my book reviews on there or stick to TBR's, wrap-up's and recomendations (I have one scheduled for Wednesday, recomending my favourite romance novels)..?
I'd love some advice on book-blogging and blogging in general, if you'd like to help! Thanks :)

I live in a little community in Canada where the winters are long and cold. But it's a great place to live and raise a family. The people are very friendly, and you can't go far before bumping into someone you know.
I just published my first book of poetry, and now I'm trying to build readership and gather reviews - easier said than done as you undoubtedly know. I'm also a substitute teacher and blogger.
I'm not sure that I have a preferred genre when it comes to reading. If a book strikes me as interesting, I'm more than happy to give it a chance. In an effort to support other indie authors, I'm focusing on reading self-published novels these days. And because I know how important reviews are, I plan to review each of the self-published books that I read.

Welcome, Brenda. One friend of mine that lives in Canada said once: Here is 9 months cold and 3 months winter :-) Well, I know you are having your shares of nicer weather too, but a bit of teasing doesn't hurt. Regarding promoting your work, yes there the harder part comes, but nothing is impossible and I do believe that persistence is the key. Being a self publish myself I know how it is and yes, I am also trying to read as much as possible the work of fellow self-published authors.
Enjoy the ride! :-)

I do not do any other genres, children's books only.
I often offer my books for free on Kindle and very much appreciate your support and reviews. I look forward to meeting and featuring some new children's book authors and illustrators in the near future.
Just as a note, I will be on the road in a few days time for a duration of a couple of weeks, and any responses will be at the whims of the cyber universe. I will eventually respond.

I like mostly fantasy and sci-fi stories, but a good mystery also traps me. I love fast-paced books!

Not sure if I have introduced myself or not but here goes just in case
I'm Tony Levy a former Prison Officer/Governor who resigned back in 2008 after predicting what is happening to the UK prison service today would happen. I'm now 66 fully retired, very happily married to my best friend and loyal wife of 25 years, we live in Spain and have two married daughters both of whom have two children of their own.
Since retiring I have written two book A Turnkey or Not? is my authobiography of my 25 year career working for HMP and my latest book just released is called El Dorado? No! Thanks again for allowing me into the group
Hope some day my genre of true life stories will be featured.
