J.L. Vaughan Hello, my name is Jordon, though I write under the name J.L. Vaughan. I live in Yakima, WA and have lived in various places along the western US. My day job is in Aviation which has been my thing (both flying and manufacturing) for about 11 years now.

I recently finished my second book, a Crime Thriller called "No Good Son." Check it out here on GoodReads if you're interested. Feel free to hit me up with any question...or just to say hi.

Matt Parker Hello Everybody

I've spread my Goodreads wings to take a look around (Either the Steampunk mechanical ones, or the leathery demonic ones) and touched down here. I recognise some familiar Mod faces from the 'Shut up & Read' group, so I reckon it's safe to rest up here for a while.
Hello all.

Edward Dreyfus Hello, I'm Edward Dreyfus; after 50 years as a practicing clinical psychologist, I have turned my attention to writing fiction. I have published several psychologically based novels and screenplays based on my experiences. My career mission has been to help people maximize their potential and achieve their goals. Now, through my fiction writing, I hope to continue this mission and reach a larger audience. The stories I tell are all based on my years of practice. Each story deals with another aspect of the human condition.
Shattered Direction
The Midnight Shrink
Gag Rule
Mickey and the Plow Horse

Ralph Webster Hi! My name is Ralph and I am a first time indie author. Retired and 65 I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I would write a book. But, I did! It was listed on Amazon 3 days ago. My sales rank started at #8,000,000. Yesterday it was as high as 5,000 but now it has dropped back a bit (must be all the overnight international competition). Anyway, I think "a Smile in One Eye: a Tear in the Other" is a pretty good read and I am pleased to be part of this group. I am looking to learn all that I can.

Hi, Ralph. My name is Ed. I began writing novels at 75, that was four years ago. I have now written five. It's a great journey. Have fun! The most difficult part is yet to come...marketing! Oy!

Hi, Ralph. I published my first novel (many years in the writing) last October - at 66. Welcome to the clan.

And the most difficult part is not marketing, it's marketing WHILE writing the next book.

LOL, Alicia. Maybe that's my problem. I am always working on my next book. At just shy of 80 years old, I don't have time to waste; I've got stories that I've been waiting to tell. If not now, when?

I hear you. There are things I want to do - and finish the Pride's Children trilogy is one of them. At least that much, and one complete story would be told.

It should have been ONE book, but it takes longer to tell the story I want to tell, and CreateSpace bindings are limited to some 800+ pages - it wouldn't fit.

If I'd had more patience, I would have waited until the three volumes were finished before publishing the first one. My daughter wants me to write a synopsis of the rest, in case something happens to me!

I feel like Scheherazade - maybe I'll be allowed to finish.

message 1183: by Eva (new)

Eva John Hello,
My name is Maria T. Mayer and I released my 1st book, Crone, A Scarlet St. James Novel, originally in Nov. 2015. Had it re-teched and corrected for errors in March 2016. As far as I know, there have been no overtly negative criticisms, and people have shared that they are generally creeped out by the story (yeah!) I wish to make contacts with fellow fiction/horror authors and share my experiences, as well as learn from theirs.

Tana Hi Maria welcome to the group!

message 1185: by Rita (new)

Rita Chapman Welcome Ralph, Maria and Alicia and congratulations on your books. I wrote my first book when I retired but Ralph and Edward you are amazing!

I'm always looking for guest authors to interview on my website at www.ritaleechapman.com. If you are interested you can contact me through the website.

In the meantime, keep writing!

Isabela Oliveira Hello everyone , my name is Isabela and I'm 18 years old. I am Brazilian , I love reading and as I have many friends / acquaintances in real life to talk about literature, use Goodreads . I love reading different kinds of books , but read most often are: Historical Fiction about World War II , Nazism , Holocaust and the history of Asia. I also like science fiction, suspense, thriller , horror , etc.

Tana Hi Cynthia welcome to the group!

message 1188: by Eva (new)

Eva John Hi everybody! I'm Maria Mayer, a new author from Michigan. Don't let the image of Detroit and burned out houses with rats the size of your head fool you. Mich is otherwise very beautiful, and eerie. My first book, CRONE, centers on a decades-old urban legend with personal accounts and experiences sprinkled in for authenticity. Horror Fiction is the genre that I gravitate to, that and murder mysteries. I hope to write an entire series of paranormal thrillers under the Scarlet St. James subtitle, as she is a seer and the unlikely heroine in Crone.

Matthew Hi

My name is Matthew Drzymala, I am 34 and originally from Manchester but now live in Liverpool. I only really started to write seriously in 2011 but have since released a number of short stories and novellas, mostly set in my Bumpkinton series.

I love to write humour, and my stories are mostly cozy stories. Some say Cozy Mystery without the murder! haha

I mostly read Thrillers and not what I actually write but I find writing lighter stuff suits me better but I do prefer darker stories when I'm reading.

Shervin Jamali Hello, everyone!

This looks like a great group to be a part of. My name is Shervin Jamali. My debut novella, "The Devil's Lieutenant," was published on May 30th; I am pleased with the results thus far (fourteen 4 and 5 star reviews in the US). My second book, "Redemption," was published two weeks ago. My writing tends to gravitate towards the fantasy / supernatural genres; adult themes, graphic violence and profanity.

I look forward to interacting with others here and indulging in your works!
