I can now feel the full effect of your review. Man, this was soooooo good! :) But yup, I'm totally in stupor mode right now. I'm not gonna read anything I'm just gonna wait patiently until my book 2 order arrives and then I will jump into that ;)
This was my very first Sanderson. And I was like you, what I was reading was cool enough to keep me engaged, but I was thinking . . . this is what all the fuss is about? I mean it was good . . . but it wasn't OHMYGAWD amazing. Until the last 20%. THEN I got it ;)
Great review! He is such a great writer. The last three books of the Wheel of Time series are among the best books i've read (and better written than Jordan's own).
HA. We'll have to agree to disagree on this: The last three books of the Wheel of Time series are among the best books i've read (and better written than Jordan's own).
Those books are the reason I'm just now starting to read Sanderson's other work. I was so angry about his awful portrayal of Mat that I boycotted his books for years.
WOOT! FYI-- if you buy a hard copy (paperback or hardcover) from Amazon, the kindle version is only $2.99. That's pretty much true of all Tor books ;)

That's nice! Thank you!
Been debating and debating whether I want to get this. your review settled it for me, I WILL be getting it,
WOOT! It's worth it. Some people think it drags a bit in the middle, and maybe it does in comparison to ALL THE AWESOME that is the last 20% of any Sanderson book, but there was still enough going on to hold my attention.
If you wind up being one of the bored ones, stick it out. You won't regret it. You have not LIVED until you've survived the end of a Sanderson book. *pinky promises*
Ah-mazing review! Informative AND entertaining, thanks!
But **psst** your rabid reads link on this takes us to your review for Insurgent. The review is on the site and I found it, it's just that this link is broken!
Loved the book! Loved your review!! My only complaint is that the waiting for the next book is going to suck MAJOR. Two years for one book? I'm going to be old and need glasses to be able to read the last one.;-)

This is the funniest comment I've read in awhile.
Brandon Mull said that it was Brandon Sanderson goal to eventually make a book that was a perfect cube.

I'd read that book.
This sounds really good, but I have fear of commitment with such a long projection. I think i shall add book 10 to my TBR and see where the world is when/if that one pops up.
Great review.
I think anyone criticizing a novel or series because there it lacks a clear overwhelming evil that good must overcome is a child at best, even that critique is completely invalid. You basically summed it up.
I was going to say you should police your first sentence spelling sailer and that I don't trust reviews like yours. Then I made my own spelling error. Now I am sad to have to explain myself. Ah screw it. Learn to write, that's something anyone with this many friends and reviews must do. It's a law
