This story is idiotic and misleading, how can a girl forgive a person who raped her so brutally,he raped her for 3 days and even after that he had sex with her multiple times without her consent,it is such a depressing and misleading novel, he treated her like a garbage. oh god such a disguisting novel. I just don't get it how can this girl forgive this man in any cost and I just don't understand why Chinese novels are full of this shit that a guy abuse girl, raped her, kidnap her, torture her and she still fall in love with him. You are sending wrong message to the women and to the whole humankind, rape is the biggest crime, it should not be treated lightly , even if you write a novel in which a person is brutal or do bad things with people or with leading lady then you show how he suffers badly. If this mc rape girl for 3 days so brutally then you show an ending in which person paid the price and he also tortured brutally not that the girl is ended up with this disguisting man.

Exactly!! You know what; I really should update my rating and this review. Even though I only 'properly' read up to 35, I do know what happens in the later chapters because I skimmed the rest and wow it became such a trainwreck. I cant believe this webtoon is so popular and keeps getting translated when THERE ARE SO MANY BETTER WEBTOONS OUT THERE. The male lead is such as asshole and MC is such a damsel ugh I want to strangle them both. MC fights bullies, has to deal with attempted rape, then actually gets raped, then she cries, the 'tires' to fight but end up failing miserably because she is too damn weak and retarted and and then it's just an endless loop of the same things over and over again.
And, I'm so sick of sensasionalized rape scenes in chinese manhuas. Powerful guy meets pititul girl, forces her, shit happens and Stockholm syndrome follows. I get that this takes place in china, where gender roles are still backwards compared to other parts of the world but like WTF. I'm so annoyed with this manda. It is a waste of time.

I read the Novel around the end of 2016, few things are amazingly annoying but it was honestly a good read. I can totally tell why you would hate the Manhua so muchhh! They don't explain anything about how the characters are feeling and why they are doing what they are doing. The only thing i hate about this story is the fact that Yu Ao Tian tries to rape Yao Yao when clearly he wasn't a kind of person who'd force himself onto others. That was extremely put of character..and *Spoler Alert*
Yao Yao never showed loved to Ao Tian until Chen Yi cheated on her. She was always very cautious of him. Furthermore the only reason she was his mistress was for his family's sickness ( i can't remember if it was her father or grandparents).

(Yes I went to the last chapter to find out that the ML is was not killed and was having a successfull life with FL and it pissed me off)
When he slapped her in the very first few chapters for probably some idiotic reason... that was my HUGE red flag... I left and then totally forgot about this and then came back to it and since covid happened had nothing better to do and read up to 170 something and you are totally spot on as many others have said.. totally not my cuppa. But to each their own... thanks for the additional edits. Bc I saw that it was upto 400 chapters.

You're absolutely right! From the very first chapters it was so obvious this was gonna be a very shitty story. Like you I also gave up and went back to it because it was way too damn popular and I wanted to see whether it got better or not. It didnt. It went way down hill and it was nothing but plot holes and cliches. MC is stupid as a brick yet has a IQ of over 200, gets abused physically and mentally, raped, yet never learns and keeps doing the same stuff and I'm supposed to be ok with it? This story is super toxic!
I really don't understand why some women like stories where the guy treats the woman like trash and basically rapes her and they think he just some misunderstood hero but I'm so done with Chinese manhuas, It's always the same crap.
