I’ve had my head in space ever since I saw the original Star Wars in the cinema as an impressionable eight-year-old. For a while, I thought I might like to build giant robots, or travel into outer space, or unravel the secrets of life. But I’ve found that writing science fiction allows me to do all three.

I mostly write YA SF because it allows me to explore the extremes of wonder and horror of the changing world through the eyes of people who are new to it (yet somehow still managed to be jaded –> teens, go figure!). I've also started the Alternate Futures Podcast where I feature interviews with independent science fiction creators.
