I want to be an author because I love to read. I long for adventure and both reading and writing help fulfill that longing, I have some ideas, but I seem to lose interest in them very quickly and I don't know why. You mentioned that I might want to be an author because of the money. I honestly don't care about being rich and famous. Would I like to be rich? Yes, but I want to make a difference. I want to have enough money that I can change the world- for the better. I want to end world hunger, find a cure to cancer, and provide clean water to every single person in the world. Realistically, none of those things will ever happen, especially because of me. By writing, I might not be able to change the world, but I do believe that I can change the world of that reader. If only to change the world of a single reader, for a short time, I will feel accomplished as a writer. I want my writing to help fulfill that longing for adventure in both my heart, and the heart of someone, somewhere, who loves to read. Someone, somewhere who reads my writing and is inspired. Inspired, like me, to change the world. I want people to get that experience, that feeling, that only my fellow readers will understand.
