I was disappointed in Pete's lawyer; he didn't seem to even try to understand his client. True, Pete didn't give him much help. But it just seemed like he should have been a bit more creative, and much less fatalistic.
Which part of Europe - no end of British soldiers ended up as PoWs in Japanese camps and suffered unimaginably. If you grew up after ex-PoWs were about (and they didn't make old bones) try The Railway Man by Eric Lomax.
