Yeah, I feel like it's sort of an easy out to say "it was a mercy killing therefore Pop is still a good person," but also maybe unrealistic of me to think "even giving him a sliver of a chance at running is better."
Also possibly unfair to be debating the morality of a man backed into a corner making impossible decisions when there's a whole mob of clearly evil people actually creating the situation.
