Kim might not be settling down but does her life become slightly happier? I also think she deserves some happiness xx
The fictional character of DI Kim Stone is flawed, intense, and has essentially managed to compartmentalize the horrors in her past. She is managing to function and establish a platonic yet strong rapport with her partner. The answer, i.e., the solution to every woman's problems is not "to fall in love and live with a good man". If Angela Marsons would choose this kind of fantasy "live happy ever after" ending for Kim, I would lose interest in the character instantly. Kim is currently one of my favorite fictional protagonists. She is strong, kind and compassionate, driven, and focused like a laser on her job. Barney and her bikes is all I believe she needs right now---besides some devilishly clever villains to match wits with in future novels.
Claire, she may find some measure of happiness some time in the future but Pisces51 has hit the nail on the head and summed it up perfectly :-) :-)
I totally agree! That's one of the ENDLESS things I love about the Kim Stone series.....superb writing, great stories, real characters dealing with real issues, don't throw all that lovey dovey stuff in there......it'll be too much like what's already out there.......unless Kim feels the need to give him the ol one two!!!! : ) Lol !!!!!
