Penumbra Thanks for your in depth answer, Kari :) I understand about sequels. Sometimes one story is all that's needed.

I forgot one question. What was the age of Noah's father?

Kari Gregg Around -- but not quite -- 50. Shifters traditionally have kids young in this world (Fletcher has a pair of wee beasties and he's mid 30s, tops). Noah's sister would've been considered a spinster in shifter culture, but her not hooking up with anybody kept the tension with the pack over the pact from snapping, if you see what I mean. Why Noah was in such a rush to get knocked up too. He was just following the young parent pattern (even though Wade was older). I guess that's sort of a riff on how I was raised. You married young and started popping out the kidlets, right? That's just what you did. Nowadays...Well, suffice it to say I have NOT encouraged my DD to be in any rush, but things are different now. I set PP at sort of the fulcrum of that cultural shift in shifter (ha ha) land. Some characters wanted to wait or even have no kids at all (GASP!) Others...not so much. I liked that clash of progressive vs traditional between Wade and Noah. (And even between Noah's family and Noah himself.) Noah wasn't *always* quite so progressive in his beliefs. Neither was Wade, for that matter, being that he used the old pact to get Noah to start with. Moving forward isn't a straight line when it comes to changing beliefs and cultural mores. There's a push-pull to it, a wrestling with new vs old. That's what I wanted to show.

Dear God, do I EVER shut up? Sorry. ;-p

Penumbra Don't worry about long explanations, I love finding out an author's thoughts about their stories. I hadn't thought that about Noah's sister's behavior. She seems pretty smart. I was thinking she would probably make a good beta, although a bit difficult, lol. Noah's behavior about getting pregnant makes more sense now and I like the idea of Wade's pack being at the point of change. Thanks for the great answers :)
