Completely agree. ^
And me as well ^. The apes should be respected for their own innate qualities. We recognize their similarity to us, and it resonates, that is true. When we see them behind bars at a zoo, this should bring up a particular poignancy and shame in what seems to be our inability to treat them with humane kindness.
