Rosemary Standeven I have just ordered it from Amazon, along with Cedric Villani's "Birth of a Theorem" which I have had my eye on for a while. One of my favourite kids books is Norton Juster's "The Phantom Tollbooth" - that along with some wonderful plays on words - send its hero to Digitopolos - the kingdom of maths. He meets an 0.58 of a child who comes from an "average" family of 2.58 children, and drives around in a 0.3 of a car (because families on average have 1.3 cars). I don't think it will translate at all well, so you need to get an English copy. Norton Juster also wrote "The Dot and the Line" - a mathematical love story with the best mathematical pun ever.
