I'd have to agree with you. When I start to write, writing happens. It may not be polished writing, but it's writing nonetheless. The greater problem is avoidance of writing. Yet, even when it looks like avoidance, it might just be brainstorming in disguise. Since it's difficult to distinguish between writing avoidance and brainstorming, it's important to schedule time to sit in a chair and tap keys. When enough monkeys do it, eventually they write Shakespeare.
