Cintia Neither of them. As I said, I have nothing at all. Thanks for answering

Ruth Have you tried a flash fiction or short story? Maybe starting with something short will help. Is your main issue that you have trouble coming up with ideas to keep the plot going? Maybe you're the type of writer who would benefit from outlining. I come up with things as I write. Outlining doesn't work for me, but for some authors, it's the way they best write.

You said writing makes you happy. What have you been able to write?

Cintia Well, I'd called it a book, but it's just because it has lots of chapters, but it's not so good. I also have a couple of short stories set in Victorian England, I planned like 5, but I got stuck in 3, with two unfinished since forever that I can't continue... And 4 fanfictions

Ruth So it sounds like you did finish something. That's good. At least you have the structure down on how the story goes. Maybe some basic outlining would help. Maybe pick your beginning point, conflict points (which are more like "This is where things get worse for the hero/heroine), and the end point where things get resolved. I don't know if outlining would help or not, but it sounds like it'd be worth trying. The story might change as you write it. In that case, you can go back and outline a new plan based on what the characters might do now that things are different.

Cintia Yes, I do some of that but not exactly... I prefer the story to take me and surprise me...

Ruth I hear you. I like the surprises, too. It makes writing fun.
