Don't get me wrong. I'd read your books over watching a tv or movie adaptation. I just wish I could be a part of the world that you created. Also, did you just say 'MORE Night Angel'?
Oh yeah. It's always been the plan to write more Night Angel books. You don't think I left those plot threads open and had all those prophecies for nothing, do you? (Indeed, I talked about this in the interview at the end of The Way of Shadows.)
I would kill to see a well done movie or TV series of either book series. The budget for for such an endeavor would be quite prohibitive however. I don't think it could be done without the financial backing of a major studio and I doubt they would do justice to the works. If Brent could get the same kind of creative oversight Rowling got for the Harry Potter movies, that would be something exceptional.
I agree with it's not less to keep it in books. Since it's rarely done well. However there are some people who just won't read novels (to their own loss) and prefers visuals instead
Damn, Weeks! You keep proving why you're my favorite author! I just had this discussion with my kids and nieces. Though my book(s) isn't published traditionally (and probably never will be--by choice) "everyone" feels they'll be highly successful and insists that they become a movie/show. But, I'm of the notion that, unless it's done right, it's not worth the headache, because the screen can do more damage to an author's series than help bring more fans. TV/Movie fans are not of the same patience as Book fans--they want everything neat and tidy in 2-3 hours or a nice entertaining TV series. It takes more than a famous name or someone with washboard abs to bring the artistry and true story to life! You're talking director, actors, script...even music! The list goes on....
