I have read TFIOS and for me it was overrated, bcs of the movie. Nonetheless, I rated it 4/5. I havent read Eleanor & Park yet, but its on my tbr. Ive bought all the bright places 3 weeks ago as there is a member rebate and I cant resist! Thanks for your honest opinion bytheway :)
I will say that Nur that the TFIOS comparison does ring true because it does involve the theme of death and how we all deal and relate to it in the world. Certainly it's unfair to judge John Green with ATBP because the two are two completely different stories but I hope you like it and try to enjoy the story. I hate film adaptions because the translation gets lost and elements have to be cut. (Except for Hunger Games and the earlier Harry Potter films.) Read it and give some feedback. It's not a easy sell at our bookshop because of the subject matter but for some diverse readers it might click with them.
