Because he acts like one. I hate him, and I hate this book.
To be fair, there was quite an age difference :)
Addie is 300 years old and acts like a twelve year old. She didn't gain an ounce of self-awareness in 300 years. All the characters are garbage.
I'm in the first 25% of the book and I was considering giving up this book because I really really could not empathize with Addie
Thanks for this, it makes me want to read on, finding it so depressing (about 25% in)
I JUST posted this same thought. It's demeaning and insulting.
