Thanks for a wonderful memoir, Mikel. Thanks for telling the truth and following David Bowie's & Robert Smith's advice. Thanks for working so hard to make such a great piece of art. And thanks for reading it aloud. Just finished the book and loved it (tho it made me sad, like The Cure's "The Forest", an album I adored as a kid even while my family vacationed in Hawaii) for all its truths and trouble and transcendence. Now listening to the album for the third time. Dude, you are on a ROLL.
This song is one of your most beautiful songs. After reading the book, I had gathered it was about your father. The poetry in the final lines make me cry, you are truly one of the most gifted poets. I love that you put your poetry to beautiful music, really makes the emotion come through.
