Yeah I read a book similar to the one you are talking about called Dangerous Girls. It made me second guess everything I thought I had known about the character. This time I was prepared and was also second guessing Mary's actions through the little clues the author planted. I never fully believed her story, but was rooting for her throughout the book.

I'll have to check that book out! :-)
