Very well put. Although I didn't enjoy it much, it was an important novel. It was different in story and prose and I appreciate Kerouac as an American author. I always appreciate an attempt to do something different or "think out of the box."
I read Kerouac's earlier novel "The Town And The City" a couple years ago and thought it was excellent. I believe it was drawn from his life growing up in Lowell, MA. Nothing at all like his "beat" writing later.
