Lol! Way to put it Rob!
Exactly. Do you think Lewis himself would coin it as an allegory? I believe it was intended that way.
I read that as if you mean it as a negative comment (that he wasn't subtle) but I don't think he meant to be subtle. I think it's a fantastic medium for sharing the gospel. Kevin I'm sorry to hear that because these books really gave me hope that I wasn't too far gone, and that I could never be too far gone. I don't know what my life would be without that hope to ground me.
I actually DID miss it for many years. I read the series as a little girl and even though I am a pastor's kid I was too young to understand it. It wasn't until the movies came out that I began to recognize it.

"a mediocre philosopher" ...C.S. Lewis is considered one of the best. If it didn't speak to you, that's subjective, but to say he was mediocre as a philosopher would be disagreed by the top theologians of today. Mere Christianity and his other Christian words are regarded extremely highly, regardless of your own application of his ideas.

I think C.S lewis meant it to be that it wasn't like BAM in your face this is a Christian book and story so like unchristian people could enjoy it and what not, but for those who did catch it that it can be a powerful message. SO it's kind of like a hidden message in the book. IT makes since to because the author was a really good Christian.
