I like your use of the word "believe," it seem to me more like an infatuation rather than love. And Madeleine and Mitchell seemed to me to be more like teenagers than young adults. Madeleine I think was more in like with the way Leonard looked and behaved without really getting to know who he even was, and Mitchell was just having a fantasy.
