YES!!!"

I think so too, to have a printed checklist of the books. Would certainly like to read them.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* Malinda wrote: "Wait, What? No Stephen King for Maine. SK and Maine are practically inseparable."

JasonA Lindsay wrote: "As a native Hoosier himself, I’d also include John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars for Indiana."

That would be a better option than the one given that's set in a fictional city.

message 213: by Kayleigh (new)

Kayleigh Massachusetts’ book is a poorly written (I read it, I said it), crappy romance novel?! Like not even a half decent romance novel? Ridiculous, we have better tastes here.

Tim New Emily wrote: "Can you please also give some books from US territories? The US officially has 14 territories including PR, Guam, and American Samoa to name a few!"

Yes if they include DC they should include the others also

Sue Kozlowski Cari wrote: "Stephanie wrote: "I wish there was a printable check list of all of the books"

YES!!!"

What I did was create a book shelf called "All 50 States" and I added all 50 books to it. Mark them all for this shelf and 'To Read'.

Sue Kozlowski Debbie wrote: "This is a great list! I do think that John Kennedy Toole's "A Confederacy of Dunces" be a great choice for Louisiana."

I have to admit that I thought that was one of the most painful books to get through! It was on my list of '100 books to read before you die"

message 221: by Jana (new)

Jana Coon NC- where the crawdads sing. Beautiful descriptions of our natural beauty here.

message 222: by Julie (new)

Julie I was disappointed in the book choice for Colorado because local author Sandra Dallas has written so many historical fiction books about Colorado.

message 223: by Valerie (new)

Valerie What a great idea! I saved several to my “want to read” list!

message 224: by Ginger (new)

Ginger Holloway I agree with @MeganBrevard — please read Cold Mountain for NC— or Lee Smith or Wiley Cash or Jason Mott. So many better books and authors from NC!

message 225: by Hannah (new)

Hannah I think Demon Copperhead is a perfect pick for my home state Virginia.

message 226: by Christopher (new)

Christopher And now the counties of the UK!

message 227: by Tina (new)

Tina One book that is often cited as representative of Oregon is "Sometimes a Great Notion" by Ken Kesey. This novel is set in a small logging town on the Oregon coast and captures the rugged, independent spirit of the state. The story revolves around the Stamper family, who operate a logging business and resist unionization, highlighting themes of family, conflict, and resilience. Kesey's vivid descriptions of the Oregon landscape and his exploration of the logging industry, which has been a significant part of the state's history, make it a quintessentially Oregonian novel.
