I make a practice of stepping away and focusing on other things when I get like this in order to change perspective. Usually when I come back to the topic, I'm more energized and can be more productive, after I've focused on something else for a while.(less)

Yet the best thing I enjoy about writing a professor-teacher-consultant-writing is being able to think freely about topics without bounds and be a futurist. I like to take and present a "blue sky" visions for our lives / the planet and then work backward to think about how we can achieve those as opposed to any dystopian futures that regularly appear in sci-fi literature.(less)
