C. Scott Kippen I remember trying to hunt down this edition after the expanded updated one came. It is hard to find. Everyone though seems to prefer the expanded one.


Thomas I didn't have trouble finding a copy; I scored one my first time checking at the used bookstore, so I didn't think of them being hard to find.

I still have a long way to go, but I think the expanded one is the better edition. There's more detail in it, which doesn't expand the plot too much, but it does give us more insight into the characters. I just wish this were a straight reprint of the uncut manuscript, though. King is like George Lucas; he couldn't resist making some updates here and there, so it's hard to tell what was original and what was added some twelve years later.
