I also aggressively support my right to read anything I choose to read.

I strongly oppose an author, or any person who does or has done what is being revealed. I also support, in the US, the idea that money talks and boycotts work. But let's not hurt innocent people in our quest for justice.

Have to give props to Riptide, an immediate cancellation and refund of my choice (store credit or back to my payment card) of the two pre-orders and a $5 store credit for the one which is released which was on the same order so I can buy something else.

Re. Riptide: I feel terrible that innocent authors are involved. Kim Fielding has a book coming out with them, for example, and she's got nothing to do with this.

But Riptide is complicit! Let's not forget the ruthless blacklisting of individuals or blogs who dared question. A professional organization should not behave like this!

They must know about the lies and fraud, yet they do nothing. Granted, they are legally obligated to hold certain information private and perhaps they don't have a termination clause, but they have had a long-standing relationship with SH.

Why are they punishing readers for speaking out?

I (especially living where I’m living ;) ) am strongly against boycotting, or any form of collective punishment.
Too many innocent individuals are suffering from this way of punishments.
I think we need to focus on SH and the authors that support him and this behavior.
I only yesterday started to look into it, but since yesterday only 3 friends unfriended him here (it was 414 now it’s 411). It’s not me being petty, it’s me thinking that if only 3 unfriended him while this is still so strongly going on, then what’s the point of talking about other, more drastic measures?
We need to start thinking about a clever way to make publishers knowing that dealing with this sort of writers is very bad for their business.

Maybe they just don't know about all this. If you're not a Goodreads member and don't frequent Twitter, you wouldn't know the truth. Anytime it's brought up on Facebook, the posts get reported or taken down because the poster is threated with legal action. I haven't seen anything about it on Instagram and I don't use Snapchat, so I have no idea.

I don't know what the answer is, but I think people need to keep talking about it. Spread the word and maybe more people will begin to question his stories.

The lying about cancer thing is honestly what gets me the most. I've seen so many people suffer from the disease. No one comes out unscathed. Children die. Mothers die. Friends. Brothers. Sisters.

I've lost family members and close friends. Even the survivors are forever changed.

And this piece of shit on the ground uses it for emotional and financial gain? It makes me so ragey, I want to cry.

I hope you all don't think I'm a horrible person, but I fervently hope SH gets what's coming to them. Maybe there is a god or karma or cosmic energy, and someday this despicable liar will actually have to battle this disease.

I can´t do so much, I´m not going to support SH and the authors who support them. But, I´ll talk here so my friends see this post and I´ll talk in Twitter because people needs to know, and then, they can choose what they want to do.

But does anyone actually believe the authors that spout "I met him, he's real" or as LA Witt said "Santino is a real human!" believe that they dude they took a picture with is the same dude who wrote those books and used to be all snarky and angry with knife emoji love on Twitter? I don't. I've seen and honestly cringed at the snaps posted. There is no way THAT dude is the same SH everyone knew before Nikki started posting evidence and they began re-branding. NO FUCKING WAY.

I believe every author claiming to know Santino as a man, as that man in the pictures knows and is a liar and is complicit. I won't touch their work either. I am sure when this all blows up they will try to play the victim and say they were catfished too but I ain't buying it.

I can't believe how many brand new reviews for SH and ME's books that are showing up on my feed, by my FRIENDS. They aren't being recently read but I guess they were never reviewed and I would assume because of what is going on this is their way of showing support to the authors by writing reviews now. I don't understand this.

If that's what they're really thinking, I hate to admit that I believe they're probably right. It will die out eventually, if it remains relegated only here and on a couple of twitter accounts.

I think whoever suggested reporting the account to Patreon had the right idea. Patreon could at least take steps to investigate in some kind of official capacity.

SH seems to be focusing on making sure this whole thing doesn't blow up on facebook, because it's where it can hurt the most.
On GR this thread has visibility and many people are removing reviews and ratings, but even with all that it doesn't seem to be having a huge impact on SH's friends count going down.

Who knows how many of those "friends" are even taking the time to better understand what's going on, instead of dismissing everything as the usual drama?
I'd like to think people are unfollowing him at the very least (I know I did as fast as I could), but I'm not seeing much evidence of that either.
So frustrating.

I think some of those might be people who cleared their rating, but left their review because you have to "edit" the review to clear a rating rather than just downgrade without opening it. I did that for ICoS in order to recognize Ais' effort, but delete the rating.

I have been providing the link on my FB page. If Susan does not want this to happen I need to know. I have no other option in terms of getting the word out. FB is silent which is very disturbing as well. And these "lawsuit" tactics are scare gimmicks. Proceed on.

I hope you both are right because this frightens me. I've seen re-shelved or rating and review removed but these looked like new reviews. I would hate to think that people are reading these allegations and it makes them want to be a fan. Ugh.

That’s because there is now a $1 tier on Patreon. It was added once the numbers went down suddenly a few days ago as more people started speaking out. So now, there is a push again to join for $1 a month.

let's not forget Witt actually called Nikki and others subhuman, Ericsson and Stivali are actively calling for silencing the voices of every one of this thread, accounts are being blacklisted by a prominent publisher.
I'd rather support authors who never fell into these toxic patterns or are actually acknowledging their toxic behaviour

I actually totally forgot to check if I was friends with SH here on GR. Turns out I was, so now I've unfriended him/her. But I didn't even think about it in the first place.

In regards to what Vanessa is claiming on twitter, please let me clarify what happened. Someone from a blog accidentally followed Nikki’s twitter believing she was actually Santino’s twitter handle. She had just reviewed a book of his and it was an honest mistake. Ed (or Edward on facebook) noticed it and proceeded to subtweet about the blog and a reviewer of the blog (who is also on GR). Vanessa replied and stated that during a con, I believe in 2014/15, she was groped by someone who reviews for the blog. Now she is claiming that Nikki is using this as part of her Santino is a woman piece. Which is false. It’s widely known that none of us believe there isn’t a man in the situation, whether he writes or is the “face” of Santino is up for debate. However, Nikki realized this blogger did not mean to follow her and within less than 24 hours the blogger no longer followed her. Vanessa has been vocal about blacklisting ARC’s due to the incident she discusses on twitter. Just wanted to clarify that Nikki did not know the blogger. The blogger accidentally followed Nikki and Ed and Vanessa then used that to make claims about the blog/bloggers/reviewers.
