It's been a long while since I read any new fantasy series and now I want to read one and be lost in a new fantasy world. Any recommendations?

P.S: Other than HP and LOTR

Emily-Jo If you like fantasy with a YA / comedy leaning, I highly recommend the Tiffany Aching series of Discworld novels. Strong female protagonist, not overbearing humour, beautiful deft touch with British isles folklore and communal traditions that made my mum weep when she read it, because it so reminded her of her grandmother.

In terms of a grown up high fantasy series, both my parents raved about Stephen Donaldson's 'The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant'.

Leah Bayer Have you read Hobb's books? Her worldbuilding is so immersive, and there are like 16 books split up into several trilogies

I haven't read any Terry Pratchett novels until now, but I've heard a lot about Discworld, will Tiffany Aching series be a good starting point? Like I know that there are so many books in the series, but is it possible to start this series and understand the world it is set in?

Also, I will check out 'The chronicles of Thomas covenant', never heard of it. :)

No, I'vent read her books yet, but The Farseer Trilogy has been on my to-read shelf for so long. So I'm going to start reading this series and see how it goes :) Thanks for the recommendation.

Emily-Jo Yeah, you can start with the Tiffany series with no problem at all - the Discworld books share the same universe, but don't all come as part of one long series - instead, there are lots of smaller series all set within the Discworld universe.
