I’ve been thinking about picking up a Henry James novel that I’ve yet to read for some time now. Maybe this is the one!?

Tara, this book is appreciated by people who already feel comfortable with Henry James' blinkered style. I love all books by him, but if you are just starting to read him, I would suggest you start with The American, The Bostonians or a book of his short stories. This book would come across as incomprehensible to a newcomer. FYI, Andrew N.

Read The Europeans by him last year and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I’ve read The American and POAL each twice. I read Washington Square as well so I know what I’m in for 😊. I appreciate the heads up! James isn’t for everyone.
