I give up. Probably the most dull book I've ever read

Really digging this book. I think he was only about 20 when he wrote it but he really knows how to craft a story and conjures up the most likeable characters. By far the best Australian writer I've come across. He's got a great sense of humour and is a true stoyteller. His more recent book 'Jasper Jones' is probably the best thing I've read this year, and 'Rhubarb' is shaping up the same way

I really wanted to like this book but unfortunately it was just a cliche scary clowns plot with dull humour and a very lifeless writing style

I'm in 2 minds about this book. He writes well and I'm enjoying it but when I put it down, my critical side can't help but question his accounts. I think the guy in this Youtube video puts it better than I can:

So far, this is probably the most honest drug memior I've ever read, loving it.

Was a good read. Huston seems to have a fair grasp of teenage life and the characters are believable.

I'm really digging this book, the warped humour of it is awesome.
Eg: where Jim claims to have "a penis large enough that, if it had a penis of its own, my penis’ penis would be larger than your penis"
And John replies with...
"You don’t even exist. We’re all just a figment of my cock’s imagination"

Propably his best book yet, I was so absorbed in it that I found myself thinking in scottish dialect long afted I'd put it down
