Having a hard time wanting to read this right now.

I can tell Rallo went to journalism school as this current chapter feels very research heavy. Happy at my progress, and a fan of how she crafts sentences, but this book is a bit tedious.

I want to love this book. I do love this book, but Rallo’s writing is sometimes too long and repetitive for me to truly fall deeply in love with it. Perhaps I’m not used to reading self help books (true). Perhaps I’m uncomfortable reading this during the lowest point in my life career wise (also true). I’m a fan of hers, but I’d like to see more streamlined concepts.

I’m still enjoying this book, but I’m finding it hard to consume. I’m 27, work in retail after choosing to leave Hollywood assistant life behind, and feel nowhere closer to a new job than I was a year ago when I got fired. This feels very early career coded rather than helpful to my current experience.

I’m so incredibly impressed, and obsessed, with Eli Rallo. Genuinely one of the best written books I’ve read from someone my age. Although, she tends to overwrite concepts. Her life seems awesome. Very inspiring for who I want to be.

I started this book on a whim, finding it buried under a pile of tote bags, and I’m so thankful that I did. The writing is incredibly fresh and engaging. I feel like I’m finally connecting with the inner turmoil I’ve been wrestling with due to my uncertain future.

I honestly really enjoyed this (despite the snail pace I’ve been reading it in). Cazzie clearly represents some part of the culture for a modern generation and reminds me so much of LA. Her ability to capture a mentally ill generation obsessed with their phones, beauty/wellness techniques, and thought spirals is poignant.

Cazzie really is an intellectual for the modern chronically online generation. While her spirals regarding celebrity culture, dating, and appearances can be nauseating, it’s fascinating to see those thoughts so effectively captured.

I wish I was blowing right through this. It’s definitely getting better as I grow comfortable with Cazzie’s tumultuous thoughts, but I still find myself tired at times. More of a fan of hers than I was before though!

The lack of making time to read in my life right now feels criminal

Ok… maybe She’s winning me over. I see the vision.

Ok, I’m starting to find the author endearing… like a random girl I’d speak to once a month in college who was really pretty and said the most anxiety-ridden things.

Finally making headway! This book slump NEEDS to end.

I fear this is kind of insufferable… will give it 100 pages.

Phoebe ends up with Jonathan. I’m calling it right now!

The protagonist lives in the same LA neighborhood I used to live in <3 This book is so LA.

I cried!

15 pages in and they’ve already confessed sexual interest?! Woah, the lack of build up is jarring.

This book is good and all, but omg is it a slog to get through when it’s slow.
