Build the ark under Our eyes, and according to Our inspiration. Do not appeal to Me on behalf of the wrongdoers. They shall be drowned.

Build the ark under Our eyes, and according to Our inspiration. DO NOT APPEAL TO ME ON BEHALF OF THE WRONGDOERS. They shall be drowned.’

These accounts of things that have passed We now reveal to you. Neither you nor your people knew them before this. Be, then, patient in adversity;
FOR THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THOSE WHO ARE GOD-FEARING.
(surah hud)

The time when wine was made illegal, no drink was loved by ppl of Madina than wine from dates mixed with unripe dates

Once I was serving few Sahaba who gathered at AbuTalhas place when a man passed by& said: “Wine has been forbidden”
They neither asked when, nor suggested waiting until they made sure. They simply said to me:
Anas, spill it off!

Later they learnt the news was true. They never tasted wine again

When a child was born to anyone in ʿĀ’ishah’s family, she did not ask whether it was a boy or a girl. She only asked: “Is the child created well and sound?” If the answer was: “Yes”, she would say: “All praise be to God, the Lord of all the worlds”.

the Prophet said: ‘If any of you leaves his place and then comes back to it, he is more entitled to it’

As for those who desire only the life of this world and its bounties, We shall fully repay them in this life for all they do, and they shall suffer no diminution of their just dues.” (Verse 15)

We inspire Moses and his brother: ‘Take for your people some houses in Egypt, and make your houses places of worship, and be constant in prayer.’ And give glad tidings to all believers.

verse uses the term ‘sultan’ which means authority, in place of ‘evidence’ because authority provides strength, and the one who has a proof to support his claim is in a position of strength: “No evidence whatever have you for this.”

They obey what can neither harm nor benefit them and say: ‘These will intercede for us with God.’

In reply, the Prophet is instructed to say to them: “Do you presume to inform God of something in the heavens or on earth that He does not know?” (Verse 18)

God does not know anyone who can intercede with Him. Do you then presume to know what is unknown to God Himself?

Imagine the feelings of majesty and magnificence of a person who sees the sun rising and setting for the first time, or the full moon making its first appearance followed by its first setting?

By his very nature, man can accept and follow good or evil. His tool to distinguish between the two is his reason.

This reason needs to have an accurate criterion to which it can refer whenever things become doubtful and unclear, or whenever temptations or immediate interests affect his judgement.

He needs a measure which is totally unaffected by anything that influences the human body, mentality or temperament.

The earth is composed of particles of different elements with well-known characteristics, but the utmost that people can make of them is a brick, a tool, a machine, etc. On the other hand, from these very particles and elements God makes life, which no one else can do. From these letters and sounds, people make words and sentences in prose or verse, but God makes of them the Qur’ān.

Is it proper for you, Muhammad, that you slaughter our donkeys, eat our fruit, & beat our women?

Prophet became angry & said:
Ibn Awf ride your horse & call loudly: Beware, Paradise is lawful only for a believer, gather for prayer!
Prophet led them in prayer, stood up & said:
Does any of you, while reclining on his couch, imagine that Allah has prohibited only that which is to be found in this Quran?

God has bought of the believers their lives and their property, promising them heaven in return: they fight for the cause of God,

kill and be killed.

This is a true promise which He has made binding on Himself in
the Torah,
the Gospel
and the Qur’ān.

Who is more true to his promise than God? Rejoice, then, in the bargain you have made with Him.

That is the supreme triumph.

God makes it clear that they have “transgressed by staying behind” because their “action” of staying behind is motivated by their “lack of faith.”

So if they repent through their actions, not words, Take a portion of their money as charity, so that you may cleanse and purify them thereby; and pray for them: for your prayers are a source of comfort for them.

They said [to one another]: ‘Do not go to war in this heat.’” (Verse 81) Such words are only said by a person who is keen to indulge himself in every luxury. Such a person is not fit to do anything which only men of endurance can undertake.
They are a fitting example of people with no will power.

Prophet, strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and press hard on them.

“Charity is not lawful to be given to anyone who is rich or to anyone who is strong and fit.” Two men came to the Prophet and asked him to give them a share of zakāt. When he looked at them carefully, he found them strong and able. He said to them: “If you wish I will give you, but you should know that no one who is rich or able to work and earn has any claim to a share in it.

The unbelievers would love to see you oblivious of your weapons and your equipment, so that they might swoop on you with one assault.
They shall not cease to fight you until they force you to renounce your faith, if they can.
They respect neither agreement nor obligation of honour with regard to any believer
