I am struggling with the 1st person, present tense for a historical novel. It is jarring. I really want to finish this book, because I find the character intriguing and there isn't much information about her. I've read other books written in 1st person, present tense and it didn't bother me, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

I'm not sure I will finish this one. I enjoyed Part I but when I got to Part II - I lost interest in the story. Started flipping past pages which is why I only gave it 3 stars. Looks like Part II wasn't edited completely.

So far, I'm really liking this book. It is holding my attention. This story fills in a lot of the blanks from the trilogy.

Just started reading and I remember now why I like Suzanne Collins, she can paint beautiful visuals. I'm a writer/editor and finding an author who knows how to write and I don't want to reach for my red pen is a rare find. The trilogy doesn't really explain the backstory in detail. This book fills in all those questions. Stay tuned as I make my way through this prequel.

This book is old but had some very valuable information I found useful.

Totally loved this book!! A fresh perspective on a familiar take. I enjoyed each chapter's viewpoint and how all the stories intertwined. Great job!
