Yes a diverse set of characters (affirmative action for fictional characters?) speaking about the Gestalt. Oh, I recall what I was going to add. I've been to Cadiz. Bonanza is near.
Oh yes, I thank Tony Bourdain on the pronunciation of Arcachon (where he and his brother spent summers). That from the TV show and book Cook's Tour (will add a link when I get a chance). That includes the abridged audio version of Tour.

Eugene Miya is on page 360 of 480 of Genius At Play: The Curious Mind of John Horton Conway
If Roberts and Conway lack anything, they don't mention John Holland's work in cellular automata. It's a biography about a person who is uncertain that he wants a biography. I need to tell other friends about this book.

I feel sorry that John is only going to be remembered for Life.

A friend was 87-K at Kiska. This is the first 10th Mtn book that I've seen which mentions Morley Nelson (+). Unlike other book and documentaries I've seen, this one is brutely honest about about its friendly fire incidents ("This outfit will never see combat..."), accidents, and short time in theater. I'm using it for background on some historic issues of one of its fallen.

Eugene Miya
Eugene Miya is finished with Quicksilver (The Baroque Cycle, #1)
Neal's language and writing is basically 20th century despite some older spellings. I relocated my audio copy of QuickHg (the only volume which will have an audio version). Glad, I also read Cryptonomicon (moves faster than that but still with slow bits). I have to laugh when the first character I see is Enoch Root.

"Canal Rage" in Venice!

Eugene Miya is on page 620 of 768 of Blue Mars (Mars Trilogy, #3)
Back reading. Aging. The growth of big trees and animals in such a short period of time seem a little improbable.
Suspending reading until I get South. Back to it in a couple days when I get into the desert.

Now it's no longer just about Mars, but solar system colonization, and interstellar colonization (spoiler alert).

Eugene Miya is on page 440 of 624 of Green Mars (Mars Trilogy, #2)
Page 125 is a critical page: This ain't Red Mars anymore.

Another colleague wrote a Mars book. And like Green (and a tiny bit of Red), there was sex comment, but he noted that that detracted from his Mars book, while I was attending to that in Green Mars.

More maps help. I see Blue Mars has more maps, but a iPhone Mars app map has been somewhat more useful, except for the fictional glaciers, and settlements.
