I’m troubled at how sexist this book is. I hope all Heinlein works aren’t like this. 😐

It’s beginning to get better. Started out kinda silly and fluffy, especially after having read the darker Neuromancer. But I feel like (hope) the plot is about to take off.

Wow.

So far, not very impressed. Terrible dialogue and character development, and the storyline is a rehash of Tim Gautreaux's THE CLEARING. I hope it gets better, but right now I'm not buying any of it.

Just starting. I love McCarthy, and I intend to read everything. So far I've only read Suttree and The Road, but I certainly want to savor the entire experience of his entire catalogue in order, so I'm starting over from the beginning.

I really don't know if I like this book or not. There have been some great moments, but it is a SLOW read. Better listened to, I think, but easy to get lost and distracted. I get the feeling that Wolfe is playing with the reader a bit with his lofty verbosity. Makes me chuckle at how over the top it is at times. This one is going to be a challenge to finish, I think. I do like his description of the family dynamics.
