There is a turning point in this book where it goes from “haha I like the dynamics between these characters and their realistic reactions, they sound like they could be my coworkers” to “WOW that escalated QUICKLY” and I really, really, like it. I’m actually a bit annoyed that I don’t have the time to just sit here and binge read the rest of it.

Frank Herbert, you are both an incredibly talented writer and also a little freak. I’m going to exhume you and we’re going to have a strong discussion about Leto II and Sabiha.

Farad’n is giving me huge Kabru from Dungeon Meshi vibes, but is focused on achieving political power instead of being a heroic character (from what little I know of Kabru thus far). I’m expecting him to start freakishly obsessing over Duncan Idaho.

I’m not sure what it says about this book that when the only character who was aiding Tarzan’s wife and child after turning against the antagonist died, I laughed.
The narrator roasted the dead man for his poor hygiene the very next page, post-burial.

I wish I’d started a Tarzan kill count before reading this series.

I’m enjoying this one SO much more than the first one.

Liking this one a bit more than the first one so far, weirdly enough. I want Tarzan to get back to the jungle already.

C’mon Tarzan, let’s get your mind off of Jane and get your ass back to the jungle, bro.

Have I been…… tricked into reading a romance? I’m beginning to think Burroughs has the hots for Tarzan more than Jane does.
