Lori is 10% done with Eligible (The Austen Project, #4)
My apologies to the world. I have abandoned another book. I quit in the middle of the eighth chapter when I decided this was too far into the book to find myself still not liking any of the characters. This is supposed to be entertainment reading, and I'm not waiting any longer to be entertained.

I think this book could be easily a third shorter without sacrificing content. So close to finishing. Help me...

Is it just me? It seems like I keep reading the same details over and over again.

Lori is starting The Mind of the Maker
Free Will and Miracle will have me thinking for a long time. Sayers explores how an author must give her characters free will in order for the story to remain unified. She posits that, though an author is always free to introduce miracle, she can only do so believably if it serves the purpose of her plot. She likens all this to God, His will, our free will, and His choice to do the miraculous. Brills-ville

I need to stop reading Goodreads reviews while reading the book. I don't know if this book is getting tedious because it's getting tedious or because so many other people told me it would.

Not sure about this. The theme of damaging parenting isn't one of my favorites. It's hard for me to read this stuff.

If the stuff she says about Bela and Marta Karolyi is true, then they should not be working with youth. At all.

Not sure about this. I'm through the first chapter and I'm not sure I care what happens to any of the characters. We'll give it another two chapters or so and see how it goes.

I'm just about to start part 2 of "Family Happiness" and I sense where it is going. Not sure if I care to go there, frankly.

I'm 36 pages in and it isn't really going anywhere for me. Going to give it a little more time to get going. But not much.
