Even though Hatsumomo was evil, I felt a little bad by what happened to her!

Nobu was really in love with Sayuri!
I wished they became more of close friends.

The Geisha's life even though glamorous seems very bleak where they can't do anything of their choice and always have to live to impress others

The worker Sayuri seems more nice to me than Geisha Sayuri for some reason!

The stratagem between Mameha and Hatsumomo were clever. It was exciting reading through it to know how it unfolded.

But what it lead upto was saddening. The encounter with Baron was disgusting and made me feel sick. Even more sickening was the bidding for "15 year old" girl. It was pathetic and the Doctor's acts after were even more pathetic and disgusting.

I'm starting to be digusted by the whole Geisha industry

lot of Geishas' ways are about artistic perfection and hardship but the thing that determines the measure of their appreciation seems unfair...patriarchal
the success of Geisha is dependent on how much a man is appreciative of her rather than her art.

Chiyo saying it was the worst to happen that she tried to run away and sabotaged her future seems wrong. Mameha is far kinder and better for her future than Hatsumomo

It's terrible to know that Chiyo is sold by her father and the amount paid to her father is the debt she owes which she later has to pay!

Even though Hatsumomo hates the girl coming from village cause she stinks, she has boyfriend who works in noodle shop and who already has a wife and family...that's strange.

I'm happy for Satsu I wish Chiyo also made it!

Right from the moment Tanaka Ichiro was mentioned he didn't give a good vibe. How he made the girls go through horrifying events at such young age was upsetting.
It was saddening that the girls couldn't even stay with their mother in her last days and what made their father give them away like this!
