Something is clicking more with this book than the first. I did really like the first, but I sort of fell off from regular reading until they started sailing with the pirate (ish) comm. But I immediately feel more connected to Essun, and Syenite, knowing so much of her journey. And why she wants her daughter back. Pretty sure I’ll read this much quicker than the Fifth Season.
