Chapter 7 is key to this entire argument. Membership is the term used to describe the relation baptism and the Lord’s Supper normally create. It is not some third thing. So without baptism there is no membership just like without vows there is no marriage.
But baptism is also not something to do without committing to a body. Baptism implies belonging to a body that baptized you.
