This is a challenging read for me. I find the characters unlikeable and the writing so-so and a lot of the plot too predictable to care. just cannot get invested in this book.

This book makes me feel some type of way. I feel so angry at parts. There are so many mirrors to how femme folk get disregarded and silenced and it reminds me of the ay I have been treated by health care "professionals."

I'm not sure I will finish this. The writing is pretty good and this is also my first time reading a historical or first-hand account of early communist Russia, so I am fascinated. I fancied myself a commie in my twenties but have returned to anarchism in my thirties, and this book is feeding my confirmation bias nicely.
